Mirror It support · Version 1.0

A little help with
your next reflection.

Installation, framing, effects, and troubleshooting for Mirror It in Lightroom Classic on Mac.

Install & get started

Download Mirror It ↓
  1. Extract the download. Unzip the file and keep the complete MirrorIt.lrplugin folder together, including Mirror It Editor.app.
  2. Move it somewhere permanent. A local folder such as ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules/ is suitable.
  3. Add it to Lightroom Classic. Choose File → Plug-in Manager → Add, select MirrorIt.lrplugin, and confirm it is enabled.
  4. Select a photo. Choose File → Plug-in Extras → Mirror It: Reflect Selected Photo… in Lightroom Classic.
  5. Frame and preview. Choose a reflection mode, pinch to zoom, drag to reframe, and click Preview Reflection.
  6. Save to Lightroom. The editor saves a new TIFF, closes, and the plugin adds and selects the result in your catalog.

Updating? Replace the complete installed plugin folder, then choose Reload Plug-in in Plug-in Manager. Check its Path field if you keep more than one copy.

Requires macOS 13 or later. The bundled editor supports Apple silicon and Intel and is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find Mirror It in the menus.
Confirm you are using Lightroom Classic on Mac. Open File → Plug-in Manager and check that Mirror It is enabled. Choose File → Plug-in Extras → Mirror It: Reflect Selected Photo…. Reload the plugin after replacing its files.
The editor is missing or cannot open.
Install the complete current download. The editor must stay at MirrorIt.lrplugin/Mirror It Editor.app. If macOS reports a problem, keep the exact message and contact support. The current release is signed and notarized; you should not need to disable macOS security protections.
My original photo is offline.
Reconnect its drive and make sure Lightroom can render the photo. The plugin must receive a rendered image from Lightroom before opening the editor.
I want to change the source slice or framing.
Choose Edit Original Photo after previewing, or change a reflection setting. The original stays loaded with its framing. Select a different source photo in Lightroom after canceling this editing session.
Water is not making a left/right reflection.
Water is a top/bottom effect. Enabling it selects Top / Bottom. Use the source-half menu to select Top or Bottom, or turn off Water for a plain mirror.
A TIFF saved, but Lightroom did not import it.
The plugin keeps the completed TIFF and shows its path. Open File → Import Photos and Video and add that file manually. Results are saved in a Mirror It folder beside your catalog and have -MirrorIt- in the filename.
I cannot find the imported result.
Check the Mirror It folder in Lightroom’s Folders panel and clear any filters that hide the result. The plugin selects the imported photo; a filtered collection may not include it.
Saving failed or is taking a while.
Check free disk space and write access beside the current catalog. Large crops take more memory and time. If saving fails, the editor keeps your original loaded so you can retry.
Why is the preview different from the TIFF?
Previews are limited to 1200 pixels on the long side for speed. The final save renders the full selected crop, so fine details and water texture can differ.

Privacy information

Local photos. Optional contact.

Mirror It processes the active Lightroom Classic photo locally on your Mac. The plugin does not upload photographs or include analytics, ads, telemetry, or an account service. It creates temporary rendered files and finished TIFFs and adds saved results to your Lightroom catalog.

Supported source metadata can be carried into the TIFF, including capture details and location information. Your original photo and Lightroom Develop settings are preserved.

The support form is separate from photo processing. If you submit it, the contact details, system information, and message you enter are sent through Formspree to support. There is no photo-attachment field.
