Water reflection of an illustrated mountain landscape, rendered with Mirror It

Water: the top half is reflected below the horizon with the plugin’s ripple texture. These examples use the actual Mirror It renderer and an illustrated source.

A different perspective

One photograph. More possibilities.

Start with the photo and Develop adjustments you already have. Choose exactly which area becomes the source of your reflection.

01 / MIRROR

Choose your half

Reflect left into right, right into left, top into bottom, or bottom into top. Change the source to find a different composition.

02 / WATER

A ripple below the horizon

Add the same water-surface texture used in Reflections Camera. Water mode selects a top/bottom reflection.

03 / SLICES

Build a kaleidoscope

Explore 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 mirrored slices. Choose the source slice, then reframe the photo to shape the pattern.

04 / FRAME

Keep your proportions

The editor keeps the photo’s original aspect ratio unless you choose Square. Pinch to zoom, drag to position, and resize the window without losing your framing.

05 / EXPERIMENT

Return to the original

Preview the reflection, then choose Edit Original Photo to change the framing or settings. Your original stays loaded until you save or cancel.

06 / FINISH

Back to Lightroom

Save a new, losslessly compressed 8-bit sRGB TIFF at the selected crop’s full resolution. Mirror It imports and selects the result, preserving your original.

From selection to reflection

Select. Frame. Reflect. Save.

01

Select in Lightroom

Choose the active photo and open Mirror It from Plug-in Extras.

02

Find the composition

Choose a mode or slice, then pinch and drag to frame it.

03

Preview and refine

Compare your reflection and return to the original to experiment.

04

Save a new TIFF

Bring the reflection back into your Lightroom catalog.

Questions

A few things to know.

Does it work in cloud-based Lightroom?
This plugin is for Lightroom Classic on Mac. It is not a plugin for the cloud-based Lightroom desktop or mobile apps.
Does it change my RAW file?
No. Lightroom renders your current adjustments for the editor, and Mirror It creates a separate TIFF. Your source file and its Develop settings are preserved.
What format does it save?
Version 1.0 saves losslessly compressed 8-bit sRGB TIFFs. The final image uses the full resolution of the crop you selected; previews are smaller for speed.
Can I process several photos at once?
Mirror It edits the active photo, even if more than one is selected. Select another photo in Lightroom and run the plugin again to work on the next image.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The plugin and its Mac editor process photographs locally. The optional support form is separate from photo processing.
