Common questions
How do I move the focus ring?
Simply drag anywhere on your image. The focus sweet spot follows your finger in real time. You can also use the Sweet Spot slider to resize it and Tilt Angle to rotate it.
What does the Squeeze control do?
Squeeze compresses the focus ellipse along one axis, turning it from a circle into a narrow band. Combine it with Tilt Angle to create the classic horizontal strip effect used in architectural miniature photography.
Why does Vignette only darken the blurred area?
By design. Real lens vignettes affect the light reaching the sensor outside the optical sweet spot — they don't darken the in-focus subject. Tiltique simulates this correctly, so the sharpest part of your image always stays bright.
Is my photo saved at full resolution?
Yes. Tap the save or share button in the top bar and Tiltique renders your image at the full original pixel resolution before exporting. The live preview uses a smaller render for speed.
Does Tiltique store or upload my photos?
No. All processing happens entirely on your device. Tiltique has no servers, collects no data, and requires no account. Your photos never leave your iPhone.
What iPhones and iOS versions are supported?
Tiltique requires iOS 16 or later. It is optimised for iPhone and takes advantage of Metal GPU acceleration on all modern devices.
How do I reset to default settings?
Tap any of the four style presets — Classic, Velour, Spiral, or Sundial — to restore a known starting point. Classic is closest to default neutral settings.
Can I crop before applying the effect?
Yes. Tap the crop icon in the top bar to open the inline crop tool. Apply your crop first, then adjust your tilt-shift effect. The focus point automatically remaps to the cropped frame.
