Last updated: July 7, 2026
Stenope is a camera and photo editing app for pinhole-style long exposures. It does not require an account, does not include advertising, does not use tracking, and does not upload your photos to a server.
Data collection
Stenope does not collect personal data from you. Camera frames, imported images, exposure accumulation, editing, and export preparation are processed on your device.
| Camera frames | Processed locally for live preview and exposure accumulation. Not uploaded by Stenope. |
|---|---|
| Imported photos | Processed locally after you choose a photo with the system photo picker. Not uploaded by Stenope. |
| Saved photos | Written to your photo library only when you tap Save Photo. The saved thumbnail shown in Stenope is a local shortcut to the saved result. |
| Analytics | No analytics SDK is used. |
| Tracking | No tracking, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking are used. |
| Accounts | No account, login, email address, or user profile is required. |
Permissions
Camera
Stenope asks for camera access so it can show a live pinhole-style preview and capture long-exposure-style photos.
Photo library save access
Stenope asks for permission to save edited photos to your photo library. It saves only when you choose to save.
Photo import
When you import a photo, iOS presents the system photo picker. Stenope receives access only to the photo you choose through that picker.
Sharing
When you share a saved photo, Stenope uses the iOS share sheet. The photo is sent only to the destination you choose.
Third parties
Stenope does not send photos, camera frames, or usage data to third-party services. The support form on the support page is powered by Formspree. If you submit the form, the information you enter is sent to Formspree so we can receive and respond to your message.
Children's privacy
Stenope does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require an account and does not collect personal data.
