Overview

Ancient Light is a camera application for iPhone that applies historic photographic processes to photographs taken on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the application accesses, how it is used, and your rights with respect to that information.

We take privacy seriously. Our design principle is simple: all processing happens on your device, and nothing is sent to us or any third party.

Data We Collect

We collect no personal data. Ancient Light does not require you to create an account, does not ask for your name, email address, location, or any other identifying information, and does not transmit anything from your device to any server.

The application operates entirely offline. No internet connection is required or used at any point during normal operation.

Camera & Photo Library Access

Ancient Light requests the following device permissions:

• Camera access — required to operate the viewfinder and take photographs. The camera feed is processed entirely on-device to apply the selected historic process. No images are transmitted externally.
• Photo library access (add only) — requested at the moment you tap Save, solely to write the finished photograph to your Photos library. We do not read, browse, or access any existing photographs in your library.

If you decline either permission, the relevant feature will be unavailable. You may change permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security on your iPhone.

IV.

What We Do Not Do

Ancient Light does not:

• Collect or transmit photographs, metadata, or any image data to any server
• Use analytics software (such as Firebase, Mixpanel, or similar services)
• Display advertising or share data with advertising networks
• Track your usage, behaviour, or patterns within the application
• Access your location, contacts, microphone, or any other device capability beyond the camera and photo library
• Use cookies or any equivalent tracking technology
• Sell, rent, or share any information with any third party

Third-Party Services

Ancient Light does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, advertising libraries, or crash-reporting services.

The application is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's own data practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no control over Apple's data collection as part of the App Store distribution process.

Children's Privacy

Ancient Light does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13, or any other age threshold defined by applicable law. Because we collect no personal data from any user, the application is appropriate for use by people of all ages, subject to parental guidance.

VII.

Data Retention

Because we collect no data, there is nothing to retain or delete on our end. Photographs saved to your Photo library remain under your control and are subject to your device's own backup and storage settings. Uninstalling Ancient Light removes the application entirely from your device and has no effect on photographs already saved to your library.

VIII.

Your Rights

As we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on our servers. All photographs and settings exist solely on your device.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have various rights under applicable data protection law (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA). As Ancient Light collects no personal data, these rights are satisfied by design — there is no data to act upon.

IX.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Ancient Light after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

We will not introduce data collection practices without providing clear notice and, where required by law, obtaining your consent.
